| Description | : Awarpur, 35 kms from Rajura town,is an industrial area
with a floating population .In 1982 the DM Sisters took up the management of the L&T Cement Factory School at the request of the company manager. The company provided a chapel in their campus and the spiritual needs of the Sisters and those of the Catholic employees were met by priests from Warur. In 1987 Fr.George Canisius CMI purchased a plot of land measuring 5 acres for the mission station.When the DM Sisters gave up the school management in 1991,Holy Mass was celebrated in private houses for a couple of years. The construction of the present church was started in collaboration with the people by Fr.Thomas Punchayil and was completed by his successor,Fr. Paul Kattamkottil CMI in 1993. The DM Sisters resumed the management of L&T Cement Factory School in 1995. Fr. George Uthimattam stayed in the room attached to the Church. In year 2011 DM Sisters gave up the school management again and they started a house at Korpana, later school in 2012. |
