Description | : Lakkadakot is a village mission station, on the border of MS
& AP. This station was established in 1974, under the initiative of
Fr. Callistus CMI who purchased a plot of land and constructed a
farm house. Even though the station is in Maharashtra, most of the
inhabitants are of Telugu origin. In 1978, Fr. Mathew Poovakulam
CMI, the Priest-in-Charge, was attacked by a group of dacoits.
The Sisters of the Destitute began their convent here in 1980 and a
dispensary in 2015. Stations of the Cross started during the time of
Fr. Canicius CMI to the nearby hill called Cicily Konda has
become a pilgrim centre. It has become a great pilgrim centre in the
diocese. On Good Friday more than 2000 devotees gather here for
Stations of the Cross. |
